The River Dell Golden Hawks Varsity Girls Softball Team extended their winning streak to five in a 5-2 victory over Indian Hills at River Dell High School in Oradell, New Jersey.
Scoreless through three innings of action, River Dell broke the stalemate in the fourth inning on an RBI single by Norah Cerna. With the bases loaded, Kaitlyn Villalba expanded the Golden Hawks’ advantage with a two-run double. Helena Marcus followed with a two-run single that widened the margin to 5-0.
River Dell starting pitcher Leandra Gilmartin, a true star on the field, delivered another stellar performance, going the distance, allowing one earned run on seven hits, and striking out two hitters.
