The River Dell Golden Hawk Varsity Baseball defeated the Dumont Huskies 3-2 on Senior Day at River Dell High School in Oradell, New Jersey.

River Dell took an early lead in the first inning, thanks to the swift moves of centerfielder Sean Lauterhahn. He started with a single, then stole second and third base, before finally scoring on a wild pitch.

Meanwhile, Golden Hawks starting pitcher Sean Golden dominated on the mound, striking out four hitters through the first innings of the game.

In the fourth inning, River Dell took advantage of a pair of miscues by the Huskies infield to extend their lead to 3-0. Dumont responded in the Top 5th on a two-run single by Liam Turner.

Dumont had a terrific opportunity to tie the game up in the Top 6th with runners on first and second with one out, but Sean Golden worked out of the jam by registering his fifth strikeout and induced a comebacker to the mound.

In the Top 7th, the tension was palpable. Sean Golden, showing no signs of fatigue, added two more strikeouts to his impressive tally. The Huskies managed to get a runner on first base after an error, but the game ended in a spectacular fashion. Catcher Mason Nagle, with a swift and accurate throw, caught the runner attempting to steal second base, sealing the victory for River Dell.
