The Pascack Valley Panthers(3-0) rolled to a 35-0 victory over the Teaneck Highwaymen(2-1) at Teaneck High School in Teaneck, New Jersey.
Pascack Valley received the opening kickoff after Teaneck deferred on the coin toss and proceeded to march down the field by mixing up the running and passing game. The Panthers’ running back, Kevin Regula, capped off the drive by plowing straightforwardly into the end zone.
Pascack Valley’s defense forced the Highwaymen into a quick three-and-out on offense. The Panthers’ offense started out with solid field position. Starting quarterback Adam Shaw completed a pair of passes that advanced the ball into Teaneck territory.
However, Pascack Valley faced a fourth-down play at the 38-yard line. Shaw completed a pass to Kevin Regula, who tip-toed along the sidelines on the right side of the field and zig-zagged his way into the end zone, extending the Panthers’ lead to 14-0 with less than five minutes remaining.
Early in the second quarter, Pascack Valley widened its margin to 21-0 on one play. Adam Shaw connected on a pass to wide receiver Dante Dacosta, who sprinted down the left side of the field and into the end zone for the 53-yard touchdown.
With seven minutes left in the quarter, the Panthers started deep inside their own territory at the 19-yard line, but that didn’t prevent the offense from swiftly moving down the field, aided by a roughing the passer penalty assessed against the Teaneck defense.
Once inside the red zone, Pascack Valley cashed in, as Kevin Regula powered his way into the end zone for the 10-yard score with less than three minutes to go, boosting the Panthers’ advantage to 28-0 and eventually a halftime lead.
The Highwaymen controlled the clock for the majority of the third quarter but were unable to put any points on the scoreboard as a completed pass fell short of the first-down marker.
Kevin Regula finished a dominating offensive performance in the fourth quarter, tallying his fourth touchdown and third on the ground with a four-yard run.
