The Oradell Hawks 14U Baseball Team defeated the New Milford Knights 6-2 in the Suburban League Championship Game at Caruso Field in Oradell, New Jersey.
Oradell took the lead in the second inning, capitalizing on a wild pitch. The game heated up in the third inning when Ryan Bossbaly delivered an RBI single to left field, increasing the lead to 2-0.
Michael McDonough drew a bases-loaded walk that forced a run, extending the Hawks’ advantage to 3-0. Alex Silverstein followed by crushing a two-run double to deep right field to widen the gap to 5-0. Brooks Esler capped off the offensive eruption in the inning by drawing a free pass that scored 6-0.
New Milford trimmed the margin in the Top 5th with two runs. Still, Oradell’s starting pitcher, Kevin Good, escaped further damage and closed the door shut the rest of the way. The Hawks emerged victorious, and a jubilant celebration ensued after the last out of the game.
