Jahair Williams, a recent graduate of Trenton Central High School in Trenton, New Jersey, has committed to furthering his education and athletic career at William Paterson University in Wayne, New Jersey.
With a height of 5’11 and weighing 170 pounds, Jahair played free safety and was a nickel back on the varsity football team.
In his junior year, Williams won the NFL Way to Play winner award, which awarded him $3,000 and a video from the league. He also earned first-team defensive honors.
In his senior year, Jahair flourished on the gridiron, amassing 58 tackles, four interceptions, two forced fumbles, and three PBUs (Pass Break Up) and winning the first-team defensive award.
On the varsity track team, Williams excelled, and he was included in an exclusive list of the Top 50 fastest runners in the state of New Jersey for two years in a row.
In the 2023 season, Jahair’s speed was on full display. He ran a blistering 22.6 in the 200M, catapulting him into the Top 25 fastest runners in the state of New Jersey.
In the 2024 season, Williams displayed his quickness again, running an 11.07 in the 100M and matching his time in the 200M the year before at 22.45. Despite getting injured for a second consecutive year in a row, Jahangir became the number one runner in Mercer County, finished in the Top 30 in New Jersey, and, more impressively, 3,000th in the United States of America population.
As a dedicated student-athlete in his senior year, Williams won a STEM Award and the community’s most outstanding academic award.
