Elijah Ives, a 6’0, 180 lb. junior at Point Pleasant Beach High School in Point Pleasant, New Jersey, is a shining example of dedication. He is a two-sport athlete, serving as a combo guard on the varsity basketball team and as a wide receiver, running back, and defensive back on the varsity football team.
He’s been playing basketball since he was five years old, and in his junior year on the varsity basketball team, he amassed 174 points, 80 rebounds, 53 assists, 35 steals, and an average of 18 minutes per game.
His basketball journey also extends beyond the local courts. Ives plays for the Jersey Shore Basketball Club AAU Team, and this year, he achieved a significant milestone by being selected for the PhD Hoops Team USA (U18) Team. This international exposure will further enhance his skills and broaden his perspective as he competes in Spain in June.
Academically, Elijah has kept up with his peers and excelled, maintaining a 3.1 GPA. His additional accolades include taking AP Dual Enrollment classes for college credits at Ocean County College in Toms River, New Jersey, where he’s studying human geography, biology, computer science, and art.
Looking towards the future, Ives is keenly interested in sports management and physical therapy. His passion for these fields is evident, and he is determined to pursue them when he attends college.
